Professional performers devote much time, talent, and effort to master their art. Yet business acumen can be just as important to succeeding in a career in the performing arts. Managing the often intimidating, complex, and confusing business of
performing is the goal of CMFA‘s workshop, “Business Strategies for the Performing
Artist”.
Led by Becky Ferrell, Assistant Professor of Arts Management at the College of Charleston, this workshop will focus on the business of the performing arts, including contracts, non-compete clauses, budgets, time management, discussing money, and the artist’s value. Attorneys and board members Mitchell Goldsmith and Steve Moon will serve to discuss legal issues in contracts and related matters.
This workshop is presented free of charge.
